BUILT AROUND YOUR BUSINESS
Learning management system development
Bring courses, learners and training progress together in a learning management system shaped around your audience. We build LMS platforms for internal training, customer education and paid online learning.
Let’s discuss your projectStart with the problem worth solving.
Selling a course, onboarding employees and tracking required training each need a different learning experience. A useful LMS lets learners find the next step and lets administrators see who needs support, without piecing reports together from separate tools.
How we approach it
We define course structure, learner groups, assessment rules and reporting requirements before development. Paid access can connect to subscription billing. For internal training, role-based enrolment and completion records may matter more. Content formats and any interoperability requirements are agreed before implementation.
Configure, connect or build an LMS?
Start with the course and administration tasks you need to support. Custom development is worth considering when existing platforms cannot meet an important requirement through configuration or integration.
| Approach | When to consider it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Configure an existing platform | Its course delivery, assessment and reporting fit your needs. | Subscriptions, administrator effort, export options and limits before commissioning custom work. |
| Connect existing tools | Your learning platform works, but enrolment, payments or reports need information from another system. | Supported APIs, account access, record ownership and failed or duplicate updates. |
| Build a custom platform | Your learner experience, access rules or operating workflow needs a different product. | Content management, migration, acceptance testing, hosting and support across the complete journey. |
A complete learner and administrator journey
For an illustrative employee-training portal, an administrator publishes a course and assigns a learner group. A learner signs in, completes the required lessons and submits an assessment. A manager sees the completion result and follows up on unfinished training. Define whether completion means attendance, a submitted activity or a passing score, and how retries and course updates affect that record.
For paid courses, connect successful payment to the correct enrolment and define access after a refund, expired subscription or changed plan. These are planning examples; the actual features and rules belong in your project scope.
Bring representative content before choosing a platform
- Which videos, documents, quizzes and existing learner records must move, and do you have the rights and export access?
- Do you need a specific content format or interoperability requirement? Any Moodle or SCORM requirement needs an explicit compatibility assessment.
- Who assigns learning, reviews assessments and exports reports, and which records may each role access?
- What support, content updates, backups and ongoing hosting will your team need?

Answers at Apaiva combines a content website, mobile app, custom editor and subscriptions built by Exceed IT. It demonstrates connected content and access workflows; it is not presented as an accredited LMS or proof of a particular content standard.

Planning your investment
Cost and timing depend on the number of user roles, the complete workflows, integrations and the quality of existing data. A focused first release helps establish what matters before expanding the product.

Questions we hear often
Can we sell courses and memberships?
Yes. We can connect course access to one-off payments or subscriptions and define what happens when a subscription changes or expires.
Can you integrate an existing content library?
We first review its file formats, licences and export options. Any SCORM or other compatibility requirement needs to be scoped explicitly.
